Argyle believes that Australian Water Entitlements are likely to experience long-term capital growth driven by: increased scarcity of consumptive water relative to demand by irrigated agriculture; progressive increases in the value of produce derived from limited consumptive water use, such that irrigators will be prepared to pay a higher price for this limited input over time; a transition of water use across a range of irrigated crop enterprises, such that scarce consumptive water is progressively directed to its highest economic use.
