Australian shares are set to open lower, after US markets were closed for the Thanksgiving national holiday.
ASX futures were down 0.33% or 28 points as of 9:00am on Friday, suggesting a lower open.
US markets were closed for the Thanksgiving national holiday.
In commodity markets, Brent crude oil was up 0.6% to US$73.28 a barrel, while gold was up 0.1% to US$2,637.92.
The Australian dollar was at 64.95 US cents.
Asia
Chinese shares closed lower. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.4% to 3,295.70, and the Shenzhen Composite Index fell 0.6% to 1,983.79.
Hong Kong shares ended lower. The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 1.2% to 19,366.96.
Japanese shares closed higher. The Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.6% to 38,349.06.
India shares ended lower. The BSE SENSEX slipped 1.5% to 79,043.74.
Europe
Stocks in the U.K. finished higher. The FTSE 100 Index added 0.1% to 8,281.22.
In Europe, shares closed higher. Germany's DAX gained 0.9% to 19,425.73, and France's CAC 40 increased 0.5% to 7,179.25.
North America
